Andrew Baird

Director
Andrew has followed his father and grandfather into the legal profession, beginning work as an employee solicitor in the family law firm in 1985, having completed his articles in Melbourne. Now a director of Baird and McGregor, Andrew's key focus is on the conveyancing and mortgage areas of the firm.

Andrew is also a director of local finance company Webster Dolilta Finance Limited and Conservation Volunteers Australia

Neale joined the firm in 2001 after being a sole practitioner for many years. He has had a diverse experience, being involved in most areas of the law during his career. Neale's current focus of work is in estate litigation, conveyancing, probate and small business transactions.

Family Lawyer and Notary Public
Julian joined the firm in 2005. Julian is a Notary Public and family lawyer. He was admitted in South Africa as a Notary Public, conveyancer and attorney and in 2001 was admitted as a barrister and solicitor in New Zealand.
His interests include his family, sport and woodwork.

William McGregor

Consultant
Bill began his legal career with Baird & McGregor in 1960, working first as an articled clerk before becoming a partner of the firm in 1962. During his fifty years with Baird and McGregor, Bill has devoted considerable time to community organisations, including his work as a founding member of the Sovereign Hill Board and on the Council of the University of Ballarat.

Bill is now a consultant to the firm.

Don Robinson

After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws degree and Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Melbourne in 1986, Don became a partner at Melbourne firm Allan Moore and Co. Pty. In 1999, he returned to his roots in Ballarat where he was appointed a partner at Cuthberts Barristers and Solicitors, then becoming a Principal of Harwood Andrews when the two firms merged in 2013.

Don is an Accredited Specialist in Property Law, an Associate of the Securities Institute of Australia and has completed a Masters of Business Administration from the University of New England.

Andrew Robson

Andrew Robson joined Cuthberts Barristers & Solicitors in 1996 and was made a Partner in 2000. In 2013 he became a Principal Lawyer of Harwood Andrews when the two firms merged. Andrew graduated from Deakin University with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and also has a Bachelor of Business from Monash University. Andrew is an Accredited Specialist in Wills and Estates.

Andrew is secretary of the Old Colonists’ Association of Ballarat Inc., he is a past board member of Ballarat Foundation, United Way Ballarat and a past president and treasurer of PINARC Disability Support Services.

Kathleen Neale

Kathleen Neale completed her studies at Deakin University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Politics. Kathleen completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice with the Leo Cussen Centre for Law and was admitted to practice in 2015.

Kathleen’s key areas of practice include:

  • Land and easement acquisitions by agreement or compulsorily, for both authorities and dispossessed land owners.
  • Property law advice including general law and adverse possession, leases, covenants and restrictions.

Tom Keightley

Tom Keightley completed his studies at Deakin University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Criminology. Tom then went on to complete his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law and
